Sundance in Utah

SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL

I worked at the Sundance Film Festival a couple of weeks ago. It was a pretty fun time, but extremely exhausting! I worked every day from 8:30 am until around midnight. By the end of the week I was so zombied out that I don't think I actually knew my name anymore. I went with two girls, Margie and Laura, and we all got along really well, making all the difference.

Laura, yo, Margie

While I was out in Utah I got to go to Hannah and Ryan's for a night (they also came up to see me one night). It was so nice to spend time with them. Their house is so adorable, I am very impressed with Hannah's skills! The only bad part of it all was saying goodbye. Makes me so sad every time. I wish we all lived closer together. Thanks for leting me crash with you both!

We also went to the Sentz home to play with the kids and "relieve" Heidi's mom. Those kids are soo funny. All very hyper, so you feel like you are amongst a bunch of energizer bunnies. We had a dance party, it was hysterical... I have tried to upload the video twice now, but no luck. So I will try to put it on youtube or something and give you the address.

Lastly, the funniest story of it all... on the way home we were about 40 miles away from Barstow which is the only city in the whole desert drive between Vegas and LA. Literally in the middle of the desert. We were driving down the highway when all of the sudden... POP!! We could not tell where the noise had come from so Margie (who was driving) pulled over to see if it was our tire. Sure enough... it was. And we were in the middle of the desert. Luckily there happened to be a very random exit right there. The exit was for nothing in particular though, there were no bathrooms, nothing at all, just a tiny road that led off into the desert with no end to be seen. Normally we would have put on the spare tire and carried on with our venture to the closest city to buy a new one, but good old Margie then informed us that she did not have a spare. So no spare, popped tire, middle of the desert, and no AAA cards between the three of us. So not knowing what to do, we called the cops and had the highway patrol come out. He was not much help at all, but again pointed out how lucky we were with our unlucky moment. There just happened to be a tire/gas shop about two miles back on the highway. So we put our emergency lights on and drove the shoulder of the highway down to the the shop. We were all so tired that this was just the cherry on top and we could not stop laughing.

Where our tire popped
Please not the sign... they have a mini mart, repair tires, have a tow service... and oh yes, they do UFO repair.... search no more, I have found a place for us all to repair our mother ships. :)
