Sunday. No work. Sun Shining. 80+ degree weather (in February mind you). I'll leave it up to your imagination, but just to steer you in the right direction... this is the recipe for perfection. I love my Sundays, and this Sunday spared no expenses at being wonderful. Nate and I enjoyed some scripture reading, the good 'ol Super Bowl and found time to trek it down to Santa Monica, rent bikes and take a little family bike ride down the beach. It was perfection.
Side note of not so perfect, but a memory all the same... we decided to take Parker with us on our bike ride. I wanted to put him in a basket and let him feel the breeze through his locks. It seemed like a good idea, but of course he needed to put his twist on it. So... we rented the bikes and basket, put him in the basket and started our ride down the beach. Not two peddles into the journey I decided I wanted my chair raised. Parker was already having a bit of an anxiety attack because we put him in Nate's basket and he is pretty obsessed with being close to me, and didn't like the current distance. Once I did a quick turn around to have my seat adjusted it threw Parkman into a full panic attack. By the time I got back to Nate and P (only 1 min. later) he was so desperate to get to my bike he lunged himself out of Nate's basket, falling on the floor. It was pretty sad, but he fell gracefully and I quickly scooped him up. Of course there was a passer by person who went into a tizzy, trying to make us feel like looser dog parents. Well all I have to say to them is to go pound sand. Thank you for your valued advice stranger on how to take care of my pup, but obviously I didn't pick him up and hurl him across the beach, he fell, picked himself back up and we carried on... I think I know what I am doing. Lame. All in all it was a great training experience for Parker and he ended up LOVING the bike ride.

Oh my gosh, just wait until you have strangers throwing unsolicited parenting advice your way or correcting your children. I am quick to call them out. I have no patience for that!
ReplyDeletePS- I showed my boys the photo of you & your pup. TJ was in love Parker & Coop was in love with you. Are you sure you want to get married this year? I know an amazing guy who will be available in about 14 years.
