Haydee + Nate: One year later...

This weekend Nate and I had the exciting privilege of celebrating our very first wedding anniversary. Such a fun realization to have as I sat in the card store looking for the right card for MY husband on OUR wedding anniversary. Never a section of the cards I was able to purchase from in the past, and now it is my go to annually. I liked the feel of it! :)

Since Italy is our real anniversary celebration but that is not coming for another 2 1/2 weeks (cant wait!) we took the opportunity this weekend to be nostalgic and have a romantic 24 hour staycation. Saturday afternoon after work we headed out to the Westlake Village Inn to stay the night in the same hotel we stayed in one year ago to date. There were a few weddings going on there so we were lucky to even have booked a room back when we did, so it came as a big surprise when we were searching for our room and learned that we had been upgraded to their grand Villa.

You would think Nate and I slum it out by how excited we were. I guess being mutually surprised by something is just that grand of a feeling. Before we got to the hotel we had this big plan of dinner (pizza- just like we ate night of our wedding back at the hotel), hanging out poolside and chatting, taking a walk, and then bed. Once we saw the two story, grand piano, backyard villa we had, plans changed immediately and we stayed the entire night on our patio overlooking the golf course, hanging out in our living room by the fireplace, sprawling out in our backyard... you know... house bound in our hotel room that was way sweeter than our own home.

Nathan Richard, not much else I can say that I have not yet said to you this weekend, but I will say a few again. THANK YOU. Thank you for being such a sweet, kind and loving man to me. Thank you for your example and dedication to that which is good. Thank you for your patience and understanding in our differences. Thank you for treating me like a queen every single day. Thank you for choosing me and for promising me your heart and life a year ago. And mostly... thank you for loving me the way you do. You are the only person on this planet that makes me as happy, safe, excited and comfortable as you do. My life is a dreamworld because of you. I love you!
