THE TRAVEL-- I had to leave work about an hour early so we could rush to the airport in time for the flight- which we did. Poor Nate is a die hard USC Football fan (I know this information is not shocking anyone right now) thus being very excited that the biggest game of the season was that Saturday starting at exactly the same time as our flight took off, leaving him with 5 solid hours of sitting on a plane watching his beloved team dominate. Nate has not flown much in his life (until he met me) and on the last flight we were on each seat had their own individual televisions with the heaven sent ESPN on them. So Nate very confidently assumed this flight would be the same. I tried to prepare him that that is really less common than common and we would prob just have TVs for the whole plane to view and they would only be playing some lame movie with no other options. He did not believe me. We walk on the plane- no individual TVs. His face was classic and you could see the meltdown happen with each passing row of seats and no TVs in sight. As the flight attendants were doing their security checks he noticed the TVs placed randomly on the ceiling of the plane and interrupted a flight attendant to ask if they would be playing "The Game" on the community televisions through the flight. You should have seen her face- like he had three eyes. Hahaha. Resolution? He purchased the day of Internet for the flight and went to stream the game online. After a good 15 min of trying to get the game to stream and NO SUCCESS he gave up and "watched" the game by following comments on a discussion forum. Not ideal. The game was "the game of the season" and just as it was called into overtime we hear "as we begin landing on the flight we ask that you turn off all electronic devices". Nate almost cried.
We landed and started taking the shuttles and the hike to baggage claim and the step before no returning Nate realized we were without his garment bag with his suit in it. YIKES!!! This is his custom suit made for him from his boss.. and not cheap. Basically not something we could make up for any time soon. Keep in mind it is now 1am and we are exhausted and very stressed because of the loss of USC (we forgot the suit because we were so plugged into getting the score on our phones as we rushed to get out of the airport. USC lost = Nate NOT happy). So we DASHED to the terminal where our airplane landed and went airplane to airplane trying to find staff to help us get back on the plane. Finally three airplanes later and what was left of staff available... no suit on any airplanes. We had to walk all the way to the other end of the terminal to a lost and found "box" open to the public to shop through.... we found the suit!!! Elated and so relieved we went down to baggage claim just to find all the bags picked up and our nowhere to be seen. Long story short and two baggage storage rooms later, we got our bag and were in a taxi to Dunwoody, GA, starved and exhausted.
THE WEDDING- on a completely different note, the wedding was perfection. It was our first Jewish wedding and I loved all the tradition. The ceremony was beautiful and Rach looked so happy. They exchanged vows to each other that they wrote and it came as no surprise that they were vows that could be published. Noah and Rachel are two of the most calm, level headed and sweet people I have ever met. Nate and I feel so blessed to have them in our lives and their vows were a breathtaking example as to what the day is all about. The traditions of the wedding carried into the reception which was held at a country club in the magical neighborhood of all times. Tall trees with beautiful perfect homes tucked away in their beautifully landscaped lawns with pristine streets, Churches and schools scattered around them. I was in heaven. The reception was a blast as well. We danced the night away and had great company around us. It was a beautiful day.
The beautiful fall leaves I have missed so much
Happy Bride and Groom
They had their first dance choreographed- it was so sweet
Our dancing feet-- "hava nagila hava!"
That would be Nate's back to the camera-- jumped right in :)
Tired after a fun night... but not too tired to be my hot model
The next Bride and Groom- cant wait!!!!
xo
