Thankful.

This year has been the best year of my life.  Being grateful is an understatement, and I am so thankful for that.  That being said- never in my life have I felt this much security, happiness, excitement, comfort, love, healthy responsibility, alll that good stuff, and feeling all of this all day every day has lead me a year and a half later to wonder if I am counting my blessings every day or so wrapped up in perfection that I take for granted how amazing my life has become.  Not totally for granted though, just maybe not stopping to hear the music and taking the time to notice the tiny things.

So, this Thanksgiving was an extra special one for me because it was a full day of putting myself in check to make sure it is a constant goal to be GRATEFUL.  Grateful that I made it to work in time.  Grateful for sunshining and birds singing.  Grateful that my house looks so pretty and is filled with such pretty things and so many smiles.  Grateful that my dog didn't wizzle on my carpet while I was gone at work all day.  Grateful that I have a job (even it is is slightly less than perfect).  Grateful that I have such amazing people as my friends.  Grateful for my personal growth every day.  Grateful for mine and the health of all my close ones.  Grateful for the hairy child of mine named Parker and how happy he makes me.  Grateful for my parents that mean the world to me, and for every second of attention they give to making me and my sister's lives the greatest.  Grateful for my sisters and that they truly are my BEST FRIENDS.  Grateful the married ones have chosen men that adore them and are such a completion to our family.  Grateful for the two new little lives in my family and the joy my sweet nephews bring us all.  Grateful for my new in laws (to be) and how well we all get along and how much I love them.  Grateful for their constant attention to being good people because they have created what I am most grateful for.  Grateful that I was fortunate enough to meet the most amazing man, and even more grateful that he fell for me.  Grateful that because of him my every single second is wrapped up in love and thoughtfulness.  Grateful for his dedication to providing a safe, happy life for the two us and the family we will create.  Grateful for how much he means to me and that I am able to be part of something so perfect.  Grateful to be me and living the life I have. :)

You get the picture right?  Sooo... enough of that mooshy stuff.

This Thanksgiving day was spent as a threesome of Nate, Parker and I.  Because of work we both needed to be in LA the next day therefore keeping us in town.  We cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner for two (and it was gooood).  We then spent the afternoon decorating for Christmas, christmas tree and all, all while singing along to Christmas music being blasted throughout the house.  It was such a good day.  Then, on Friday Nate's family came into town for the weekend. We went to dinner, watched movies on the sofa, tailgated at the USC game, went to the USC vs. UCLA game, went to early breakfasts... it was such a fun weekend and Nate and I were so grateful they all drove as much as they did to spend the Holiday weekend with us.

Not bad for cooking a Thanksgiving dinner just the two of us - I being the non cooker I am was impressed!

We did not have any string so the tarp was tied down with dental floss... it worked too!
