This past Saturday Nate and Parker were in a terrible car accident. :(
Poor Nate was stopped at a red light on Ventura Blvd on his way to work when a woman came barreling down the road at 70+ mph and without even attempting to slow down slammed into Nate forcing his car into multiple spins into oncoming traffic, with her car then sliding across the intersection into another car pushing the two of them up and over a sidewalk.
Nate's car was annihilated. His entire trunk was brutally smashed into the back seat, all of his back windows were shattered, his wheel flew off his car on impact and landed on the entire other side of the intersection. Luckily his car did just as they are supposed to and fell apart but poor Nate and Parker were tossed around pretty hard. Parkie was sitting on the front seat and in the process of the spinning was thrown to the back seat floor. Nate blacked out for a second but quickly came back to desperately looked for Parker, and ran out of the car with the pooch in hand.
Meanwhile the lady that caused the large accident was taken away in an ambulance with some cuts and injuries, and a crowd of witnesses began to give their stories to the police. Luckily (I guess) the accident happened only a block or two from my office and I was at work, so I was able to run to them right away. Nate and Parker were really shaken up, but seemingly ok. After hospital and doctor visits we were released with the potential need of MRI's for Nate's knee and a lot of pain and relaxer pills for both Nate and Parker.
As the story unfolded we learned the lady struggles with some sort of mental illness and had earlier stolen her parents car (she is 50) and though not supposed to be driving took it for a spin thus resulting in the awful accident.
Though Nate had a lot of belongings in the car that were damaged and his car is a goner (tear- there were a lot of memories in that car. He bought it the day before our first date and from our first date, to falling in love on trips away.. the car had a smell that always brought me back to those magical first months) we feel very very blessed. The magnitude of the accident could and should have resulted in some big time injuries, and my boys didn't even have a scratch on them. Minus a banged up knee and a lot of shaken up nerves, my boys are save and healthy. A lot to be grateful for yesterday!

Sheesh! I'm sure glad everyone is ok.
