Happy Birthday Nate!

June 21st marks one of my favorite days of the year.  Nathan's birthday!  Without getting too mooshy, I just have to say that this man's life has blessed mine more that I could have ever dreamed of.  I love him endlessly and so love celebrating him.

This year Nate had school and work until 10:30pm so day of celebrations were a tad mellow.  I went out and had 27 *blue* (his favorite color) balloons blown up to fill our entry way when he walked in from school, had rice crispy treats with a sparkler candle and his gifts all waiting eagerly for his arrival... he liked it :).

His Dad and Laurie came into town and we went out to dinner at our favorite spot, Local Peasant on Saturday.  After they left on Sunday morning we packed up for the main event... PALM SPRINGS {our favorite}.

This trip was our first time venturing out beyond the Parker hotel.  In fact we stayed at a completely different hotel this time to see what else was out there.  Not sure what compelled me to do this because we have yet to be disappointed by our sweet spot, but we did it.  This time we stayed at {THE COLONY}. It is a small boutique hotel right in the heart of the action.  We loved the location as it permitted walks to all of our stops (Casino, dinner at the Workshop, breakfast at Cheekys).  The hotel on the other hand was a little luster lacking. - lets just say we will be going back to the Parker on our next visit.

The two day stay in the desert was so relaxing.  We did a lot of laying out, massages, eating at great local restaurants, some blackjack, workouts and rocking on rocking chairs on the hotel's porch.  We really loved the time together in one of our favorite places to vacation.
